Over 50 elders who retired from a state transport company /formerly known as 1st road transport fleet/ donated MNT 1.1 million from their pensions to transport sector to assist in its efforts against the spread of novel coronavirus. The donation money was handed over to Mr. Batbold Sandagdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia.
During the meeting the State Secretary Mr. Batbold Sandagdorj stressed the importance of everyone’s efforts and contributions in keeping this serious disease at bay and praised the tireless commitment of many professionals from State Emergency Committee, National Emergency Management Agency, Professional Inspection Agency, Border Protection Authority and so on, who work on the front lines in the fight against novel conoravirus spread in the country. The transport sector’s main response in mitigating the risks of infection outbreak was to manage all transport operation in line with national emergency response activities including organizing special charter flights to retrieve Mongolian citizens from novel coronavirus epicenters and hotspots like Wuhan city in China, Moscow, Berlin, Istambul, Tokyo, Seoul, he added. He further mentioned about the coordinated work by Mongolian road carriers and railway people in transporting those citizens to hospitals and quarantine facilities in many locations.
The State Secretary Mr. Batbold Sandagdorj thanked the representatives of the retired workers of road transport sectors led by Ms. D.Bujinlkham and Mr. B.Dambiijantsan and assured that their contribution would be of great help in the nationwide effort to stop the spread of the deadly infection.
