Minister of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia Mr. Enkh-Amgalan Byambasuren met with Mr. Yosuhiro Shinohara, Japan’s Vice Minister for International Affairs of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLITT) on 5^th July 2019.

            Vice-Minister Shinohara headed the Japanese delegation from MLITT to attend the Signing Ceremony of the Concession Agreement on Management of the New Ulaanbaatar International Airport which was held on the same day.

            During the meeting the sides discussed a number of issues pertaining to the management of the new airport concession agreement and its implementation including the full relocation of Chinggis Khaan airport operations to the new airport, Mongolian side commitments relating to airport facilities, fueling, aircraft repair and maintenance services and so on. Mr. Shinohara also conveyed an official letter form the Mr. Keiichi Ishii, Minister of MLITT addressed to Minister Enkh-Amgalan.

            Minister Enkh-Amgalan offered his full support and cooperation on the issues raised by the Japanese side and also touched upon a range of other potential bilateral projects in the field of transport such as Ajilchin guur (Flyover), Eastern Railway Corridor, Recycling and Disposal of Lithium Ion batteries coming from hybrid cars, etc.

            Minister Shinohara informed he will take appropriate actions and follow-up on the matters mentioned by the Minister Enkh-Amgalan.
