Within the framework of aircraft fleet renovation plan, the MIAT Mongolian Airlines Company has signed an operating lease agreement with the American Air Lease Corporation to lease a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The agreement has been signed by Mr. Davaakhuu Battur, CEO of the MIAT Mongolian Airlines and Mr. Jie Chen, Deputy Director of the Air Lease Corporation. The MIAT Mongolian airlines is planning to into operation the leased Boeing 787-9 aircraft in 2021.

H.E. Mr. Byambasuren Enkh-Amgalan, Minister of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia mentioned during the signing ceremony that the Aircraft Maintenance Department of the MIAT Mongolian Airlines has performed repair and maintenance to over 60 aircrafts and it is aiming to become a Boeing Air Service Center in Asia.

In order to strengthen its position in the market and enhance passengers comfort, the MIAT Mongolian Airlines, as a national carrier of Mongolia, has been doing aircraft fleet renovation by latest Boeing aircraft models and by 2021 it will become one of the airlines with the youngest fleet, said Mr. Davaakhuu Battur, CEO of the MIAT Mongolian Airlines.
