The Road and Transport Development Ministry of Mongolia and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) have co-organized the International Conference on Regional Transport and Logistics Cooperation – Development Road, on 19-20th October, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Organizing this conference will have great significance for Mongolia to build the fundament of big infrastructure projects aimed to develop cross-border, interstate transportation and economically efficient, safe and stable transport services, sharing outstanding experience and information of other countries, and broaden international cooperation of transport sector.
The Conference also covered some other agendas, such as suggestion to develop cross-border transport within over Russia, Mongolia, China territory, and configuration of legal co-ordination organized from the United Nations and sharing the good experiences of Belarus to develop cross-border transportation.
The Conference has attended by the participants from the Ministries of Transport of China, Mongolia and Russia as well as International Road and transport Union (IRU), Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD), Japan International cooperation agency (JICA), and other international cooperation organizations and Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, China Development bank and some other financial institutions bank and investors.
During this International conference, implementing ways of Mongolian “Development route” agenda, current state of Mongolian transport sector, and further implementing projects under the framework of the Russia-Mongolia-China Economic corridor establishment have discussed.
