Mongolia and EU working to Expand Transport and Logistic Cooperation

Mongolia and EU are working to expand transport and logistics cooperation, focusing on regional connectivity, supply chain resilience, and infrastructure development and investment.

Minister of Road and Transport B. Delgersaikhan met with EU member state ambassadors and diplomatic representatives accredited to Mongolia to discuss ongoing projects, transport policies, and future cooperation opportunities.

During the meeting, the minister highlighted the growing importance of new transport corridors linking Europe and Asia amid rapid geopolitical and logistics changes worldwide. He emphasized Mongolia’s “Transit Mongolia” initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s role as a regional transport hub connecting Europe and Asia.

The minister noted Mongolia’s growing transport partnerships with European countries through road and air transport agreements, as well as interest in cooperating under the EU’s “Global Gateway” initiative in areas including green transport, logistics, digitalization, and infrastructure investment.

EU ambassadors in Mongolia also exchanged views and received answers to their questions during the meeting. At the conclusion of the talks, sides agreed to further strengthen Mongolia-EU cooperation in road transport and connectivity, while working together to improve trade and investment conditions.
