On 20^th January 2026, Minister of Road and Transport of Mongolia, Mr. Delgersaikhan Borkuu met with representatives of Spanish company Indra Group.

The sides exchanged opinions on the possibilities of improving Mongolia’s aviation safety and security through modernization of air navigation systems. The Minister noted that, under the 2026 State Budget, funds generated from air navigation service charges will be allocated for upgrading national air navigation and surveillance equipment which allows easier and faster engagement with international partners.

Indra Group, a top global provider of air traffic management and navigation technologies, has cooperated with Mongolia since 2009 and has supplied several air traffic control radar systems, five of which are currently operational.

The representatives of Indra Group expressed its interest in expanding the existing cooperation with Mongolia and to continue to work on upgrading and modernization of air navigation traffic management and radar systems in Mongolia. The Minister emphasized Mongolia’s goal to enhance airspace surveillance and flight safety in 2026 and encouraged Indra to continue technical discussions with relevant professional authorities and submit its proposal that best suited to Mongolia’s needs and interest.
