During President U. Khurelsukh’s State Visit to the Italian Republic on December 1–3, 2025, Mongolia and Italy signed an Agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of Italian Republic on the International Road Transport of Goods. The agreement was signed by Mongolia’s Minister of Road and Transport, B. Delgersaikhan and Italy’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Edoardo Rixi.

On December 3, Minister Delgersaikhan’s delegation also met with Deputy Minister Edoardo Rixi at the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the transport sector.

The two sides highlighted that 2025 marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Italy. In this milestone year, the countries have concluded both Air Services Agreement and the Agreement on the International Road Transport on Goods, elevating sectoral cooperation to a new level.

The agreements are expected to strengthen bilateral trade, support business activities, facilitate export and import operations, and promote tourism and cultural exchanges. The new transport agreement also supports the Mongolian Government’s policy to improve and liberalize connectivity with European countries, becoming Mongolia’s 12th such agreement with Europe.
