Mongolia and Iran Discuss Prospects of Cooperation in Transport

Ulaanbaatar, October 3, 2025 – Mr. B. Nasantogtokh, State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport of Mongolia received H.E. Mr. Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China and concurrently accredited to Mongolia.

Mr. B.Nasantogtokh congratulated the ambassador for his new assignment as an ambassador of Iran to Mongolia and expressed his appreciation for making the first meeting with the Ministry of Road and Transport of Mongolia after presenting his credentials to the President of Mongolia. He introduced the Ministry’s recent efforts to expand international cooperation in road and air transport and to support Mongolia’s foreign trade activities.

Ambassador Mr. Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, in response, expressed his pleasure in meeting with the State Secretary and highlighted Iran’s willingness to conclude a bilateral road transport agreement with Mongolia. He emphasized his readiness to engage in all necessary negotiations, including advancing discussions on agreements related to both road and air transport between the two countries.

The Ambassador noted that once the road transport agreement is signed, it would enable Mongolian transport operators to carry goods to Europe and Gulf states via the territory of Iran, opening new opportunities for trade and connectivity.

Concluding the meeting, State Secretary Nasantogtokh reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral transport relations. He expressed readiness to continue joint work on the draft agreement, thereby promoting favorable conditions for broader business cooperation between Mongolia and Iran.
