On September 26, 2025, Mr. Delgersaikhan Borkhuu, Minister of Road and Transport received Mr. Jahan Shamsiev, the newly appointed Country Representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and his delegation.

Minister Mr. Delgersaikhan Borkhuu congratulated Mr. Jahan Shamsiev on his appointment as the EBRD’s Country Representative in Mongolia and expressed his appreciation to the Bank for its continued cooperation and funding of the Project for the Widening of the Ulaanbaatar–Darkhan Road, which is the first major project being jointly implemented using EBRD financing in Mongolia.

The Minister then provided a brief overview of the ongoing projects and further elaborated on the ministry’s policies concerning the road construction, maintenance and effectiveness and efficiency of financing as well as sustainability of the road sector.

Mr. Jahan Shamsiev wholly supported the idea and principles of the road sector policy especially in terms of long-term efficiency and voiced the bank’s readiness to further consider projects suggested by the ministry on the field of roads and transport.
