The State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport, S. Batbold, and the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia, Ch. Munkhtuya, met with representatives from the US consulting firm "Wicks Group Consulting" to discuss advancements towards establishing direct flights between Mongolia and the United States.
The meeting focused on reviewing the results and recommendations from the preliminary assessment report for the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) program by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), conducted by "Wicks Group Consulting."
The Wicks Group also sought Mongolia's support in securing project financing for the second phase of consulting services, to be funded by the United States Trade and Development Agency. Additionally, they requested policy-level backing to ensure that preparations for the International Aviation Safety Assessment are conducted promptly and with the highest standards of professionalism.
In alignment with establishing direct flights between Mongolia and the United States, comprehensive measures will include adherence to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and inspector guidelines, development of new certifications to meet these standards, enhancement of human resource training, and investment in airport equipment and technology.
