
Minister of Road and Transport of Mongolia Mr. Delgersaikhan Borkhuu met with the Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria on 21 August 2024 and exchanged views on bilateral ties in transport sector between Mongolia and Bulgaria.
The minister expressed his thanks to Ms. Rositsa Kirova for visiting the Ministry of Road and Transport of Mongolia on the sidelines of her participation in the Word Women Forum in Ulaanbaatar.
He emphasized the important role that the road and transport sector play in the longstanding and friendly relationship between Mongolia and Bulgaria, expressing his satisfaction with the recent active development of transport sector cooperation between the two countries.
The minister further informed about the progress of Mongolia's proposal to establish two key agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, boosting economic exchange and trade, and enhancing passenger and freight transport between the two countries and status of the talks on these proposed agreements. He expressed his eagerness to sign the Agreement on International Transport of Passengers and Goods by Road between the Governments of Mongolia and Bulgaria, noting that both sides have already agreed on the text of draft document. Additionally, he mentioned that the other important draft agreement which is the Air Services Agreement is currently under discussion, and requested Mrs. Rositsa Kirova’s attention and support in advancing these agreements for speedy finilizing.

Ms. Rositsa Kirova expressed Bulgaria’s desire to strengthen the trust and friendship rooted in the historical relations between the two countries, and to enrich these ties with new initiatives. She highlighted that Bulgaria has recently focused on developing its roads and infrastructure, resulting in significant knowledge and experience. She noted the possibility of sharing Bulgaria's knowledge, technology and expertise in roads, railway, logistics, and transit networks with Mongolia.
Additionally, she also stressed that the geographical features and strategic locations of both countries could be leveraged for mutual benefit, opening avenues for cooperation in various sectors, particularly those related to raw material resources and natural wealth.
The two sides also touched on various other topics relating to the economic partnership.
