More than 30 public transport policy and planning experts, researchers, and policymakers in charge of this field participated in the workshop.
The workshop made valuable suggestions and recommendations for policy and planning regarding planning to develop a sustainable, accessible, and flexible system of public transport, including improving social and economic benefits by introducing a mass transit system, increasing access, improving the quality of services, especially providing travel conditions for people with disabilities.
In an accessible and flexible public transport system, it is time to consider sustainable transport in the broadest sense, in addition to public transport, parking stations, pedestrian and bicycle paths, traffic management, and traffic light systems.
In addition, Dr. Madan Regmi of UNESCAP visited the Ministry of Road and Transport Development, the Capital Public Transport Department, and the Traffic Management Center, and held meetings with relevant officials.
