Minister Khaltar Luvsan worked at Mongolian Railway SOC, Tavan Tolgoi Railway LLC and Zuunbayan Railway LLC to discuss the implementation of projects and programs implemented by these companies and gave instructions and recommendations for further work. In the beginning, Mr. O.Batnasan, CEO of “Mongolian Railway” SOC introduced the minister about some of the major ongoing projects. He said that Mongolian Railway SOC is a main implementing entity responsible for realizing the government's policy on building new railway line aimed to expanding the national railway network. The company will be the project manager and the main client of the 416.1 km Tavan Tolgoi-Zuunbayan railway project which will be built at a relatively low cost and will start transport operations on March 15, 2022. He further mentioned about the company’s plans to building other railway lines and enhancing the technical and manpower capability to serve the required needs in the future.


Minister Khaltar said, “The technical commission from the ministry inspected the Tavan Tolgoi-Zuunbayan railway in January and concluded that the quality of the rail road was satisfactory. He reminded that the railway was scheduled to start operations using telephone communication beginning March 15, 2022 and the company should stick to the plan. In addition, he noted the importance of starting the talks with interested parties and potential investors for in order to start implementation of Eastern and Western vertical railway projects as early as in March this year. Lastly he gave instructions to start construction of the 13 km long Shiveekhuren-Sekhe railway project by March 15, 2022.
