In the framework of Knowledge Sharing Program implemented by the Government of the Republic of Korea, KOTRA organized the Seminar on Altanbulag Transport and Logistics Center Feasibility Study Project on January 20, 2022 jointly with the Ministry.

This seminar was attended by Mr. Batbold Sandagdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia and from the Korean side H.E. Mr. Lee Yeo Hong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia and Mr. Yeo Hyeonggu, Senior Advisor of KSP program.

The sides discussed about the development of a plan to establish the Altanbulag logistics center, financial options, and the creation of legal environment. They also exchanged views on the analysis of data required for the preliminary feasibility study for the establishment of logistics center at Altanbulag port, site selection, market analysis, logistics center operation, and opportunities of connection and expansion with other logistics centers.

The Government of Mongolia pays special attention on the establishment of logistics center at the Altanbulag border crossing point and sets its policy direction on its implementation. In this context, the “Vision-2050” long-term development policy approved by the Parliament under the Resolution No. 52 of 2020 states that “Transit transportation, trade and export-oriented industries would be established along with the development of logistics and transport, border infrastructure in order to ensure the economic growth of the country”; “Agriculture, transport, logistics and tourism sectors would be developed by supporting the development of regional and local areas.”
