Minister Khaltar Luvsan received H.E. Mr. Chai Wenrui, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia on Friday, August 13, 2021.
During the meeting the sides exchanged information on the current freight situation between the two countries, in particular the delays and congestion of containers and goods bound to Mongolia from and through China, and discussed about possible ways and measures to ease the situation and how to allow more freight traffic destined to Mongolia.
Minister Khaltar vowed his active cooperation with the Ambassador Chai to resolve the issue of normalizing to increase the withdrawal of Mongolian containers accumulated at the port of Tianjin of China, to increase the number of train exchanges at Zamyn-Uud-Erlian station, to increase the number of vehicles entering through Zamyn-Uud-Erlian road port, Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod, Shiveekhuren border crossings, the number of vehicles crossing the border at road ports such as Sekhe as well as establishment of Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod and Hangi-Mandal railway ports.
Ambassador Chai Wenrui noted that the relevant organizations are taking appropriate measures in connection with the above-mentioned issues and will pay special attention to them in the future, and expressed his readiness to cooperate with the relevant organizations in China.
