Mr. L.Khaltar, the Minister of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia had a virtual meeting with Mr. Kato Takeo, CEO of New Ulaanbaatar International Airport company which is in charge of New Ulaanbaatar International Airport management.

The representatives of Civil Aviation Policy Implementation and Coordination Department of the Ministry, the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia and New Ulaanbaatar International Airport company participated in the meeting and exchanged views on preparations for the launch of Chinggis Khaan New International Airport.

The company introduced the progress of transferring the staff to the new airport and the plans to transfer the commercial flights.

Minister L.Khaltar expressed his opinion that the issues related to transferring the commercial flights should be resolved in accordance with the Concession Agreement and the relevant legislation of Mongolia.

Due to the current global pandemic situation, the Government of Mongolia has decided to start the operation of Chinggis Khaan New International Airport by July 1 of this year, and the relevant organizations are actively cooperating to put it into operation by this period.
