Mr. J.Bat-Erdene, Vice Minister of Road and Transportation Development had a virtual meeting with Ms. Tamura Eriko, Director of JICA Mongolia Office on April 16, 2021.

During the meeting, JICA presented the results of Mongolia's environmental research, highlighted a number of ongoing researches in infrastructure sector, and exchanged views on possible future projects based on it. Ms. Tamura also gave a brief overview of JICA's Road and Transport Infrastructure Research and Urban Planning and Infrastructure Development Research based on New International Airport to be implemented from this year.

Vice Minister J.Bat-Erdene expressed the Ministry’s readiness to cooperate in these activities and specifically noted that the Urban Planning and Infrastructure Development Research should be coordinated with the previous baseline studies. This baseline study covers the construction of New International Airport, AH-3 highway, Bogdkhan railway, construction of railway from Ulaanbaatar city to the New International Airport, establishment of integrated transport logistics center, establishment of residential city and free economic zone. He also expressed his support for JICA's proposal to establish the energy generation by recycling hazardous waste and expressed his willingness to mobilize their professional team for the future research and project works.
