In line with the Government of Mongolia’s Air Transport Liberalization goal and the Ministry of Road and Transport Development's goal of "Affordable Tickets-Accessible Flights," international flight routes and frequencies have been increased, enabling travel to 156 destinations in 45 countries.

This agreement between will allow for direct flights, promote tourism, and offer affordable and comfortable travel for citizens and tourists from both countries, especially those living in Latvia and Northern Europe.

Moreover, Mongolian air carriers now have the opportunity to open new routes to Northern European countries and expand their flight network by codesharing. This will also support the development of trade and economic relations and further cooperation between the two countries.

Mongolia established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Latvia in 1991. The foreign trade turnover between the two nations is 2.3 million US dollars.
